The DFSK Volt EV is a compact battery-electric hatchback sold in Pakistan by Regal Automobiles. It was not found on the parts of DFSK Pakistan’s official website that could be read, so the details here come from reports of Regal’s own announcements. According to ProPakistani, the Volt EV costs PKR 3,900,000. It uses a 16.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and has a claimed range of 200 km on the NEDC test. LFP batteries are generally known for long life. DFSK has not published the motor’s power or torque, or the charging times, for the Pakistani model.
The Volt EV is a city car. PakWheels forum owners describe it as a proper four-seater with some boot space, unlike the smallest two-door microcars. Official dimensions and boot capacity have not been published in Pakistan. In our opinion, a 16.5 kWh battery makes it best suited to daily commuting and school runs within a city, rather than long motorway trips. A forum owner reported around 180 km of real-world range in Eco mode, which is close to the official claim.
The Volt EV is offered in one version. The owners’ forum lists ABS with EBD and regenerative braking, which helps recover energy when slowing down. Other equipment, such as airbags, infotainment and air conditioning details, has not been confirmed from an official Pakistani source. Ask the dealer for the full equipment list before booking.
The reported warranty is 3 years or 60,000 km for the vehicle system, and 5 years or 120,000 km for the battery and motor. Regal Automobiles has also offered a 36-month instalment plan for filer customers, with a 50 percent down payment, but terms can change.
There is only one Volt EV, so the question is whether an electric city car suits you. In our opinion, it makes sense if you can charge at home, drive mostly in town and want lower running costs than a petrol hatchback such as the Suzuki Alto. If you often travel between cities, the limited range will be a drawback. Because the Volt EV launched as an imported model with local assembly planned later, confirm the current price, availability and specification with a Prince-DFSK dealer.
No price change recorded for this variant yet.
