Road King lists the Joy at Rs 160,000 on its official website. It sits in the middle of the brand’s scooty range, above the Bestie and Candy and Rs 10,000 below the Cherry.
The official website does not publish a specification sheet for the Joy. According to the scooter guide Volnivo, it uses an 800-watt BLDC motor and a 60V 32Ah graphene battery, with a top speed of about 50 km/h and a range of 60–70 km per charge. Road King says its graphene batteries are non-flammable and long-lasting. Charging time has not been published.
Dimensions, weight and seat height are not published. A 50 km/h top speed is enough for most city roads, and a claimed 60–70 km range should cover a typical day of commuting, although real-world range falls with a heavier rider or a passenger on the back.
There is a single version. Volnivo lists front and rear drum brakes, USB charging, a dual remote key, cruise control and a card alarm. Drum brakes at both ends are simple and cheap to maintain, but they give less stopping power than a disc.
No warranty terms are published for the Joy on the official website, so ask the dealer to put the battery and motor cover in writing.
There is only one version. In our opinion, the Joy is a sensible step up from the Bestie for riders who need proper city speed and a full day’s range. If you want a front disc brake and officially published figures, the Janoon Pro costs Rs 50,000 more.
