Electric motor and performance

The CLA on sale in Pakistan is the new CLA 200 with EQ Technology, a fully electric car with no petrol engine. The official Mercedes-Benz Pakistan website, run by distributor Shahnawaz, lists a rated output of 165 kW, or 224 hp, and 335 Nm of torque through an automatic transmission. Mercedes quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, a top speed of 210 km/h and zero tailpipe CO2 emissions. The official page does not publish the battery size, driving range or charging speeds, so ask the dealer to confirm these figures in writing before you book.

Design, size and practicality

Mercedes calls the CLA a coupé, but it is a four-door car with a low, sloping roofline. The official page highlights a forward-leaning grille with the Mercedes-Benz star pattern, power domes on the bonnet, frameless doors, narrow LED headlamps and a wide-shouldered GT-style rear with the number plate set into the bumper. The Pakistani website gives no length, width, boot space or ground clearance figures. Our opinion: a coupé-style roof usually costs some rear headroom, so tall family members should sit in the back seat during a test drive.

Equipment

Only one version is sold here. According to the official page, the CLA comes standard with a high-resolution touchscreen media display running MBUX, a leather multifunction sports steering wheel with touch-control panels, luxury seats with wide adjustment and a six-speaker sound system. Mercedes also describes Progressive Line and AMG Line equipment packs, AMG sports seats, a 10-speaker Advanced Sound System and a 12-speaker Burmester system with Dolby Atmos, but these are listed as options, so check what the car you are offered actually has. The dealer’s stock page shows white and black cars with delivery listed for August 2026.

Warranty

The official Pakistani website does not publish warranty terms for the car or its battery. Warranty terms differ from market to market, so do not assume foreign terms apply; ask the dealer for both in writing.

Which variant to buy

With a single variant, your choice comes down to colour and any optional packs. At Rs 26,200,000 ex-factory, the CLA is about Rs 8.8 million cheaper than the petrol C 180, making it the most affordable new Mercedes-Benz on the official Pakistani price list. Our view: it makes most sense for buyers who can charge at home and drive mainly in the city. If you regularly drive between cities, confirm the real-world range and the charging stations on your route before committing.
